About Presbyterian Nursery School

Presbyterian Nursery School is a non-profit, non-sectarian school sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville since 1959. The Steering Committee oversees the operation and maintenance of the school.

Presbyterian Nursery School provides a well-rounded program developed to meet the needs of preschoolers within the framework of NYS standards for preschool education and common core. The daily activities include art, music, movement and literature with math and science woven into our many hands on experiences. Directed play and many creative activities round out each of our daily sessions. Play is one of the most effective learning tools young children can use to experience their world. Our program encourages the development of a child’s sense of self and sense of community. We strive to provide our students with opportunities for socialization and the development of their physical, emotional and intellectual selves.

Programs

Overview

Each class is team taught by 2 experienced teachers. The daily schedule provides children with a dependable but flexible routine. Each session has its share of free play, along with circle time, stories, art, snack, special visitors and holiday events. When the weather permits, all classes have a chance to go outside to the fenced playground. We also use the gym facility for large motor activities during the winter months.
